LOS ANGELES - Clothing designer Jimmy Mofo of Mofo Wear will hold his first annual ThanXXXgiving Charity Bash Nov. 12 at the Dragonfly. All proceeds collected at the door will be donated to My Friends Place, a resource center for homeless kids in Hollywood.
Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro is scheduled to host the event, which doubles as a launch party for the Mofo's World webzine. DJ Kraig Tyler of Crazy Town will spin music for the crowd.
Also scheduled to attend are Mofo's World columnists Amber Peach, Corina Jayden, Craven Moorehead, Dominic, Flower Tucci, FuKn Dave, Luscious Lopez, Mackenzee Pierce, Marty, Mr. Marcus, Nicki Hunter, Olivia O'Lovely, Regan Reese, and Savant Young.
"We will not be using any promoters for this great event," said Mofo. "All the columnists and myself are producing this event ourselves."
Raffle prizes will include bass lessons from Norwood of Fishbone, drum lessons from Asesino, mixed martial arts lessons from Trenell "Savant" Young, signed art by Olivia, and rare Dead Kennedys memorabilia. Ms. Hunter, Flower Tucci, and Nautica Thorn are also donating merchandise.
All companies that donate will receive three months of promotion in the Mofo's World webzine, scheduled to launch Monday, Nov. 17 at mofos-world.com.
