SAN FRANCISCO—Cine Stage at the Mitchell Brothers O’Farrell Theatre (MBOT) will host an open-to-the-public screening party for The New Behind The Green Door movie from Vivid Entertainment on Saturday, October 19 at 895 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco, CA 94109 (at Polk St.). MBOT dancers will perform one of their original Cine Stage shows dedicated to the movie at 10 pm, just before the screening.
Brooklyn Lee, the sexy star of the Paul Thomas-directed movie, will be the special in-person guest at the screening along with Dana DeArmond and Steven St. Croix. After the screening they will meet and greet fans and give away signed DVD copies of the movie and sign autographs.
The New Behind the Green Door is the fourth of the iconic “Big Four” movies from the 1970s, considered “The Golden Age of Porn”—Debbie Does Dallas, Deep Throat, The Devil in Miss Jones and Behind the Green Door—that Vivid Entertainment has remade into best-sellers. Vivid is the world’s leading adult film company and the most widely recognized brand of the modern adult era.
The original Behind the Green Door movie starring Marilyn Chambers premiered at the O’Farrell Theatre in 1972. Vivid’s remake includes bonus footage showing Chambers’ daughter, McKenna Taylor, visiting the famous location and talking about her mother. The original film made headlines internationally when it was discovered that Chambers was the pretty blonde model posing with a baby on the Ivory Snow laundry detergent box on grocery shelves around the country. Procter and Gamble ordered a recall of the products but those that survived the recall have become collectors’ items.
“We feel that our remakes are not only a tribute to the originals but help introduce them to new generations of fans,” said Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid. “We’re delighted that Mitchell Brothers is hosting this screening as the title will always be associated with San Francisco and the O’Farrell Theatre.”
A copy of the original Behind the Green Door is included in every package of The New Behind the Green Door.
In reviewing the new movie, NightMoves Magazine features editor Art Koch wrote on All Adult Network, “There are not enough kudos to go around for the making of this masterpiece. Thomas’ direction is simply superb, the writing of the original story is brilliant and the entire cast turns in award-worthy performances.”
