Mistress Sabrina Belladonna, who appeared in numerous fetish videos for London Video, Close-Up Concepts and other production companies, and who was considered Los Angeles' top dominatrix for years, has died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Belladonna died June 7. A memorial gathering, at which some 150 people attended, was held on June 11 at the Los Angeles home where she and her husband lived.
For several years starting in the mid-1990s, Belladonna was widely considered the top dominatrix in the downtown Los Angeles dungeon scene. She and Mistress Isabella Sinclair, who now owns fetish production company Gwen Media, were two of four principals in a dungeon located on Factory Place downtown for a few years starting in the late 1990s.
Belladonna was also a BDSM educator and performer, putting on live fetish performances at various fetish balls and clubs, including the now-defunct Sin-A-Matic in West Hollywood.
Belladonna's video credits include Domina Nation and Honor Thy Bitch from London Video/Lyndon Distributors and Misbehaving Maid and Tales of Tickling from Close-Up Concepts.
Other adult industry figures who were friends with Belladonna through the fetish scene were Vivid Alt/Pirate director Dave Naz and JM/Robert Hill Releasing director Mike Ramone, the former editor-in-chief of AVN.
"Sabrina was ground zero of the L.A. fetish scene for years," Ramone said. "I met her when I started attending her play parties in the late 1990s. She later became a huge influence on my BDSM development and evolution into a pro top. She was a very unique person – a very strong personality – and will be sorely missed."
