CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Award-nominated director Lew Xypher's long-anticipated adult feature Malice in Lalaland starring Sasha Grey finally arrives Tuesday, Apr. 13 from Belgium-based studio Miss Lucifer Productions.
Captured on the nearly obsolete (in adult, anyway) 35mm film format, Malice depicts an updated, combined take on Lewis Carroll novels Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass described by its makers as "an action packed, rock 'n roll road movie." Other A-listers in the cast include AVN Best New Starlet Kagney Linn Karter, Andy San Dimas, Kristina Rose, Tommy Gunn and Ron Jeremy.
With Malice's epic scale and upper-echelon production values, Miss Lucifer plans to release a mainstream version later this year, as well.
"I'm really excited to see it," said San Dimas, who shares top billing with Grey on the film. "It was different from everything else that I've done because it was so intense. This is the first time I've shot on actual film, and that was really interesting, because there's not a whole lot of film to waste, so everything had to be very perfect and very precise. There was a lot of practicing before we actually went in and filmed, just to make sure that we got it right, because film is very expensive."
Another aspect of the production San Dimas said she found interesting was working with non-sex co-star Dirty Fred, because "I'm not used to working with people that aren't going to fuck me."
She also noted that, "It was the first time I ever got to meet Sasha Grey, and it was really interesting after seeing her in so many scenes and in The Girlfriend Experience to actually get to meet her in person."
Aside from Grey and the other big names above, Malice features plenty more both on-the-rise and well-established adult talent, including Juelz Ventura, Keni Styles, Sadie West, Phoenix Marie, Jesse Capelli and Jenna Presley.
"It's just a ton of stars, and a lot of people that are coming up and starting to become superstars as well," said San Dimas. "I think it's going to be a big movie for 2010."
