Minor Damage to Jill Kelly's Home From Electrical Fire

Jill Kelly Productions President Jill Kelly had a close call Thursday morning, waking up to find flames shooting from a bathroom/dressing room next to her bedroom in her San Fernando Valley home. Kelly suffered a minor injury when attempting to douse the fire herself.

Kelly awoke around 7 a.m. to find the fire already underway. Fire fighters quickly arrived to contain the fire, limiting the damage to mostly Kelly's bathroom, dressing area and her bedroom.

"I was outside with my dog and I smelt smoke- I thought it was someone's fireplace," JKP publicist Scott Hoover said. "I live in the house next door to Jill and saw smoke coming from her bedroom area of the house. Next thing I saw was Tyler Faith [JKP Girl and Kelly's roommate] from the house in her pajama's and moving Jill's Escalade from the driveway to make room for the fire trucks. Jill courageously tried putting out the fire herself with a garden hose, slightly burning her hand."

Kelly and Faith had just recently moved into home, which once served as Clark Gable's hunting lodge and had only recently completed redecorating her suite of rooms.

The bathroom and dressing area need to be rebuilt, and Kelly's extensive wardrobe will need to be replaced due to smoke and fire damage.

"I am thankful to be alive – possessions can be replaced," Kelly said.

Faulty, aging wiring was cited as a probable cause of the fire by a fire inspector who visited the scene.
