Michelle Freridge to Resign as FSC Executive Director

The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) said that they will begin accepting applications today for the position of Executive Director.

"I have enjoyed the last two years leading the FSC in the direction of a full-service trade association," said Michelle L. Freridge, the current Executive Director. "Building the organizations’ capacity, getting to know and work with industry leaders, developing the federal lobbying and member services, working with the attorneys on litigation, and initiating the code of ethics and best practices has been exciting and fulfilling work."

Freridge leaves the organization to pursue law school and join the ranks of first amendment attorneys.

"Michelle and her staff have done an excellent job of professionalizing FSC and expanding the trade group’s influence in the industry and among policy makers," said Jeffrey Douglas, Chairman of the Board at FSC. "Without her leadership, the entire industry would be substantially worse off.

"We regret her departure, but wish her the very best.  The next leader we hire will build on these successes and take the organization to the next level."

The FSC said that an executive search committee has been organized and is conducting a national search and qualified candidates from the industry are encouraged to apply. The position requires a visionary with a unique blend of non-profit, business, political, administrative, fiscal, fundraising, and member services skills and experience.
