Memphis Strippers Arrested for Solicitation

Just weeks after two area strip clubs were shut down on prostitution charges, local authorities have moved in on another club. According to Eyewitness News Memphis, police arrested five dancers at Ebony and Lace in South Memphis, accusing them of offering sex for money “in plain view of the club management.”

Two undercover officers said five girls solicited them the night of Dec. 29 near the club's stage. The women have all posted bond and are scheduled to be arraigned January 18.

A manager at the club told Eyewitness News they can't always hear what dancers are saying to customers. “There's loud music and other distractions.”

City and county leaders are working together to draft stricter ordinances for area strip clubs, the report said. Those drafts “are expected within the next two months.”
