Media Circus

In the center ring:\nOn the cover of Rolling Stone:The annual Rolling Stone Hot List issue was shot through with adult references, including a lead article called The Rock-Porn Connection, highlighting liaisons between rock stars and porn stars, with mentions of Vivid contact girls Janine, Raylene, Jenteal, and Chasey Lain, plus Ginger Lynn, Claudia Chase, Coral Sands, Dyanna Lauren, and Matt Zane. Artists mentioned include Limp Bizkit, blink-182, Kid Rock, Everclear, Jonathan Davis of Korn ("I got a huge-ass collection... I like raunchy porn - the nastier the better."), Gene Simmons of Kiss, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, and Barenaked Ladies. The Hot List itself had a look at a new New York-based "arts-porn magazine" called Richardson which put Jenna Jameson on its cover, and a quickie profile of Internet gadfly Luke Ford. Next year, Jenna might make the cover of RS instead of Angelina Jolie...

Sideshow:

HOT STUFF: Phoenix New Times ran an article on Vivid girl Raylene and her adventures in Phoenix before posing for the cover of POPsmear's Halloween issue with Insane Clown Posse. Vivid press rep Brian Gross, POPsmear writer Frank Meyer, and Island Records VP of media relations John Vlautin were long for the ride.

Bong bong bong: Screw publisher Al Goldstein was spotted on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on NBC. Among topics covered were Goldstein's maintaining residence in Holland and avidly smoking hash and marijuana - no doubt there, where it's legal... Our lips are sealed: That was a well-known porn actor in the poster for the new Richard Gere/Julia Roberts Runaway Brideplaying Gere from the neck down. Too bad he wouldn't let me tell who he is... HEY! Send those mainstream items over here, too! geneross.com's TV hounds told him that both Nico Treasures and Sindee Coxx were on The Tonight Show, featured in a comedy sketch where Jay Leno interviewed them about the recent victory of the United States women's soccer team over China... Number Ten with a bullet: The XXXtreme boat trip got a mention in Stuff magazine as #10 of 43 adventurous vacations, right between a cigar tour of Cuba and a dogsled run through Wyoming... Klass Acts: Tushy Girl Alisha Klass had a featured role in the Showtime series The Hoop Life. Constant reader Craig Hosoda (author of The Bare Facts Video Guide) reports that Alisha had "one great full frontal nude scene" in one of her first appearances... That's Infotainment: Veteran adult director and hall of famer Roy Karch called to say he had used 12 L.A.-based pornstars for "recreations based on actual events" for an Australian TV docudrama series about Cold War under-cover espionage. Familiar faces include Liza Harper, Envy, Anastasia, Rod Fontana, John Strong and Byron Long... Spell Check: The great grey Los Angeles Times erred once or twice in their coverage of the Charlie Sheen bodyguard lawsuit in their Sunday celebrity legal problems column, typoing Teri Starr as "Terry Star" and Charlese L'Amour as "Charlisse Lemmore." Tch tch tch... On The Record: That's Jasmin St. Claire on the cover of Oglio Records' collection of Star Wars music covers, Cocktails in the Cantina... TV Talk: VCA got its spoof vid The Sopornos plugged in TV Guide complete with cast list, quote from VCA publicist Kylie Ireland, and a note that you won't find The Sopornos at your local Blockbuster... Vivid's Cybersuit turned up in Bikini magazine, with an endorsement from Vivid model Lisa Cornshaw, who said "It's like little needles, but it's not painful." ... Hail Victoria: Playboy Playmate Victoria Zdrok (Miss October 1994) told of her performance in the video DADAhouse: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Sex in a recent E-mail: Did they force us to do that "terrible" adult scene? No, they told us to enjoy each other and do what we feel comfortable. My boyfriend wanted to do only the simulated scene (it is simulated, guys, sorry, no penetration) but I got a little carried away. He really turns me on (as you can tell by the photos on my Website!) Did I enjoy it? You bet I did! And I am not a bit ashamed to admit it!... Preem Appearance: Ron Jeremy was featured in MTV and VH-1 coverage of the premiere of New Line's feature Detroit Rock City. Something tells me it wasn't Ron's role in the film as a strip club emcee that got him all the attention... In-House Report: Entertainment Weekly's cover story about Sex On TV covered the topic of sexy content on broadcast and cable television non-judgmentally, but seemed to lean a little heavily on EW's siblings in the Time Warner family for examples, like Sex In The City on HBO, the Warner Bros.-produced sitcom Friends, and much of the teen-oriented lineup on mini-web The WB... Attention EW: Next time, feel free to crib anything you'd like from Media Circus. God knows I get enough stuff from you. Radio Waves: 97.1 FM talkers Conway and Steckler hosted Rob Black, Lizzy Borden, Krysti Mist and Tom Byron. The plan was to talk about the new Extreme Pro Wrestling operation, but they wound up discussing obscenity law and Lizzy's new boobs.

Thanx and bags of peanuts all around to Craig Hosoda, author of The Bare Facts Video Guide; Roy Karch; Victoria Zdrok, who asked me to plug her Web site, www.PlanetVictoria.com; Kylie Ireland for the TV Guide tip.

This way to the egress.
