Mary Carey to Turn in Final Signatures for Gubernatorial Run

Legend Video contract starlet Mary Carey told AVN.com that she is preparing to turn in all her needed signatures for the August 11 deadline for this year’s California governer run. The upcoming November election will be Carey’s second campaign for governor.

Carey said she will turn in the signatures Wednesday required by California law in order to earn a place on the 2006 California gubernatorial ballot as an independent candidate. Carey has been campaigning throughout California for the past three months, attempting to collect the 164,000 signatures as required by state law.

“I’m a little nervous,” said Carey. “I hope my signatures are valid and don’t fall short of the required amount.

“Since this is my second time campaigning for governor, I now understand the importance of voting and how everyone’s voice makes a difference.”

In addition to turning in the signatures at the courthouse, Carey said she will make a special announcement at 1 p.m. on Wednesday on the front steps of the Los Angeles County-Registrar Recorder. Carey will speak to the press, outlining her future plans and strategies.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder is located at12400 Imperial Hwy. Norwalk, CA, 90650.
