Mary Carey's Campaign For State Office Draws National Media Attention

Puzzled jurors and enthusiastic bus drivers were on hand as Kick Ass Pictures contract-performer Mary Carey began her campaign for Governor of the state of California, seeking to gather as many signatures as possible before Friday's deadline, when she needs to turn in at least 65 signatures and $3,500 to be placed on the ballot for this October's recall election.

"I'm not just a dumb blonde with big tits," Carey, wearing a star-spangled bikini top told AVN.com. "I'm a blonde with big tits who has come with fresh answers to stale old problems. I want to fix the budget. Davis can't fix it - Mary Carey can. Mary Carey rules!"

Carey's first series for Kick Ass Pictures is appropriately entitled Mary Carey Rules, and was pitched frequently throughout the day as she did interviews with various mainstream media organizations.

The street traffic in front of City Hall was light, with more press than citizens most of the time, but jurors on break from a case took time to listen to her and sign her campaign petition. Both men and women signed the petition, most of whom shrugged and smiled when presented with the concept of the statuesque blonde's campaign.

Carey is running as an independant and offers to help the state of California fix their budget by bringing fresh ideas to the governor's office that are designed to generate revenue and reduce deficit.

Carey wants to legalize same sex marriages in the California, which she feels would make the state a popular honeymoon destination for same sex couples, bringing in revenue from both marriage licenses and tourism.

Having worked in a few strip clubs herself, Carey is well aware of the amount of business deals that go down as the women work the poles, and suggests making lap dances tax deductible.

More controversial however will be Carey's suggestion that breast implants be taxed.

On the other hand she does intend to appoint fellow porn stars to serve the state of California as "good will ambassadors", although the duties of those ambassadors remain vague.

When Carey filed her official campaign paperwork last night, listing her profession as "porn star," she also picked up paperwork to register people to vote - and she hopes that a lot of her peers and friends in porn valley will sign up to vote for the election, promising that the inaugural ball will be an event to remember.

Although it's definitely going to be a hard campaign, campaign manager Mark Kulkis also points to the upside - just today Carey received press from NBC, KTLA, E!, The Howard Stern Show, the LA Times, the Daily News, and more.

If Carey does win the election, Kulkis, who also owns Kick Ass Pictures, expects her to honor her contract. "I'd like to use the Governor's Mansion as a location for a video. I think that would be great - no one's ever done that before," he said.
