Man Arrested for ‘Terrorizing’ Florida Sex Shop

A man accused of spewing hazardous material into a local sex shop with what authorities called a "weapon of mass destruction" was arrested and booked on Tuesday. The man was later released.

Thomas C. Magyari was arrested on a warrant for damages to Café Risque Adult Super Center and criminal mischief in excess of $1,000. Owners said the store had to go through thorough repairs and cleaning after the incident, but it still not open to the public.

Magyari’s charge stems from an incident in May when neighbors of the sex shop noticed a liquid leaking through a door of the business.

According to the www.gainesville.com, Alachua County Sheriff's deputies discovered someone had set two gallon-sized jugs of what appeared to be a corrosive material on the business' air conditioner. A water hose was set up to push water into the jugs, and another hose fed the substance into the building.

A sworn complaint was filed against Magyari in August. According to the report, Magyari told an investigator the substance was a mixture of swamp water, yeast, laundry soap and rotten eggs that he allowed to ferment for about a week before pouring it into the business. Store owners said that Magyari was caught on the shop’s surveillance committing the crime.

The complaint said Magyari intended to cause water and mold damage that might delay the business from opening.

Residents earlier this year protested the opening of the shop.
