Malone Decides to Stay at Red Light

In a turnabout, veteran gonzo director Jake Malone has decided to remain with Red Light District after agreeing to a deal with Evil Angel Productions.

“It’s a huge compliment to get an offer from Evil Angel. (Owner) John Stagliano is an idol of mine and a great guy. But I had some time think about it and I realized I felt comfortable here at Red Light,” Malone said.

It was just two weeks ago that Malone agreed to leave Red Light District after Evil Angel made him what he called a “generous offer.”

Malone began his career at Elegant Angel in 1993, directing a slew of videos before eventually making his way to Red Light in 2003.

David Joseph, Red Light’s president, said he was pleased to hear of Malone’s decision.

“We’ve been friends a long time. It's like family here,” Joseph said, adding that he didn't try to talk Malone out of making the move to Evil, rather he supported his friend's decision regardless of what it was. “He’s one of the best directors in the business and we’re excited to have him with us.”

Evil Angel owner John Stagliano was traveling Friday and not immediately available for comment. However, Chris Norman, Evil Angel VP of operations, said there was no deal signed with Malone and he simply decided to return to Red Light, parting ways with Evil Angel amicably.

Malone is known for his Red Light gonzo series such as Cum Fart Cocktails and Fuck Dolls. His newest video, Fuck Dolls 6 was released earlier this month by Red Light.

When Malone left, he joined fellow directors Vince Vouyer, Erik Everhard and Mike John who left Red Light in the past month. But with Malone back, the company appears able to meet its heavy production schedule of 18 videos per month.

Earlier this month, Red Light signed up-and-coming directors Martin Del Toro and Juan Cuba.
