Giant photographs of adult entertainers drew a mainstream celebrity crowd last weekend to a reception hosted by famed photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.
The reception was to celebrate the opening of Greenfield-Sanders’ “XXX” show at the Mary Boone Gallery, one of the world’s premier art galleries.
The “XXX” show is an exhibition of photos of adult entertainers shot by Greenfield-Sanders for his XXX: 30 Porn Star Portraits project, which also spawned a coffee-table book, an HBO documentary and a soundtrack.
The New York Daily News reports that such mainstream luminaries as Calvin Klein, Lou Reed, John Waters, Barry Levinson, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, Darren Aronofsky, Rachel Weisz and Bob Vila attended the reception.
The acclaimed portrait photographer selected a cross-section of straight and gay, current and former adult performers for the project, which he started in 2002.
Gina Lynn, Nina Hartley, Tera Patrick, Savanna Samson and Chad Hunt were among the porn stars included in the XXX project who attended the reception.
