Chuck Zane has just struck an agreement with AVN hall of famer Richard Mailer that will have Mailer doing a German Cherry Popper line for the company in addition to Zane's Czech Cherry Poppers which Mailer also directs. Zane has also hired a much-heralded new director named Chris Sullivan who will be shooting titles for the company in Europe.
According to Zane, all his European directors are mandating condom usage, and there's been little resistance to the rule. Even so, many American manufacturers are reluctant to enforce condoms due to the fear of losing sales in the European market.
"It's just a false conception," says Zane. "Europe is more conscious of the need for condoms than the U.S." European actresses, according to Zane, are taking a stronger stance on condom usage and will not work without them.
Zane just returned from Europe where he attended the Brussels show. "It was cheesy," he said. "The booths were small, and it lacked organization. On the other hand, The Crown Plaza Hotel has the best service I've experienced anywhere in Europe."
