Madelyn Knight To Get Married Off on Howard Stern

So you want to marry a porn star? How about Madelyn Knight? Beginning with tomorrow's Howard Stern Show, Knight is going to spend the next month looking for a prospective husband. She said this is not a publicity stunt and doesn't intend to become another Darva Conger.

Knight: "Gary from the Stern show called me because I'm the only porn star who lives in New York City."

G. Ross: "I guess that means there aren't too many porn star parties you can go to."

Knight: "Nope. Which is good. Because whenever anyone needs a porn star, I'm the only one here. I'm supposed to do this campaign [on Stern], and it's going to be spread out. It will be nationwide. We're going to do it over the next month."

G. Ross: "Are you getting auctioned off to the highest bidder?"

Knight: "No, no, no. Basically I'm going to pick someone out to marry."

G. Ross: "And this is going to be long-lasting."

Knight: "Yes. And they're going to be taping the honeymoon as well. Not the sex. That will be for my website [ madelynknight.com will be up on Monday].

G. Ross: "Howard interviews you Friday. How is this whole thing being set up?"

Knight's New York pedigree evidently made her an attractive candidate. "I think there were a couple of girls that were supposed to do this," she says, "but when they found out I live in New York and had been on the Stern show before...and the fact about my background, they decided on me." The background Knight refers to is the fact that she went to private school in New York City where she hobnobbed with names straight out of an Igor Casini society column. She also attended the Sorbonne in France [she was studying accounting] but didn't finish because she wanted to get into the adult industry. "I had no idea of the extent of the industry so I thought I'd do some adult magazines first," Knight said. "But then when I found out you could go straight into movies, that's what I did and did the magazines later." Knight recalls that her first feature was an all-girl movie for VCA.

G. Ross: "And you were a Vivid girl for a time."

Knight: "Yes I was - in 1996, and I'm talking to Steve about coming back to do movies for them."

G. Ross: "But you decided at some time to un-Vivid yourself?"

Knight: "No, I decided to come back to New York and start my website and start a few other things."

G. Ross: "You were living in L.A."

Knight: "Yes, but I hated it. L.A.'s like country to me. I couldn't stand it. Then I took a couple of years off but continued to do magazines and stuff like that. Then in 1998 I wanted to get back into the industry and Metro offered me a pretty good contract at the time. I took that but only did one movie. But I want to now go back to Vivid."

G. Ross: "Are guys supposed to come on Stern and tell their tale?"

Knight: "No. They're going to give us their background on everything. People from around the country can call in and whoever sounds the best as to what my requirements are will get a chance to come in and I will interview them."

G. Ross: "You will physically interview these guys."

Knight: "Besides myself, Gary will too, and I'm sure Howard will."

G. Ross: "This will happen on the air?"

Knight: "Yes."

G. Ross: "And you're going to marry this guy?"

Knight: "Yes."

G. Ross: "Cynic that I am, I saw what happened with Darva Conger. You are seriously looking for somebody to marry?"

Knight: "Yes. I'm not expecting to marry a millionaire. If one should happen to be on the show, that's not going to be exactly what I'm looking for."

G. Ross: "What are you looking for?"

Knight: "I'm looking for someone who's very tolerant of what I do. Someone that earns a living and not works at McDonald's. There are some things that I will not go for. I'm also looking for someone who's smart; someone who likes to travel and speaks English well. A college degree would be nice. Someone who's not over 50 unless they look good and are interesting enough for me."

G. Ross: "Whew. I'm still in the running. I knew all those years in the gym would pay off."

Knight: "There are some guys that look really good. I go to the gym every single day. I'm surprised. But I'm not looking for someone under 33. Too immature. But I am looking for someone to marry, but it's not going to be based on money....this will be quite interesting and there will be a few surprises."
