An adult retailer in Louisiana is currently on trial for obscenity, allegedly selling undercover police officers two obscene videos from his store.
Hustler's Barely Legal Volume 16 and Ladies Club are the two videos in question. Local media reports that they jury looked away during the sex scenes as they were shown the tapes yesterday.
Dan Birman, the owner of Fantasy Video just outside Ruston, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Birman’s lawyers had attempted to have the case dismissed, arguing that the grand jury that indicted him were “irregular” since they only last 45 minutes, not enough time to view the tapes completely. That motion was denied.
Fantasy Video opened earlier in April of this year and immediately faced opposition from local religious leaders, who started a petition to have the store shut down. Birman started a petition of his own – his garnered more signatures.
The trial is expected to wrap by the end of the week.
