J.R. Wolfe of jrstripteasers.com was getting ready to attend church services this afternoon for a relative of performer Diamond Larocce who also lost their life in the Littleton, Colorado high school massacre.
Because of the bad blood between him and Dominique DeWitt, Wolfe opted not to go to services for her father, William Dave Saunders, this morning. Larocce has worked for Wolfe and Wolfe knows DeWitt vaguely when she hubnubbed with him at a Las Vegas dancers' expo last year.
Wolfe: "I don't know if it's a first cousin or a second cousin. I'll find that out from Diamond. I know Diamond, once she found out, came here and hung out for two days then went to see her husband in Ft. Collins [Colorado]. I meet up with them this afternoon. When Diamond came off the road and came over here, she was upset to the point where I couldn't make out what she was saying. She was crying and bawling and going to see relatives. She just used the word 'cousin.' She didn't give me a specific name or anything like that. Diamond's a very emotional person, and I could only get a little bit out of her.
"The main thing was, I was trying to calm her down. Diamond's pregnant and leaving the business for a little while. It's been quite the thing out here. The high school [Columbine] is five miles from me, and one of my dancers is a senior at the high school. She turned 18 in November and started working for us in February. She was there when the shooting took place but she didn't see anyone hit with bullets. She was the only person I was worried about at that time. They didn't release the names of the dead for a couple of days. When they released the name Saunders I said it couldn't be. In the local paper they did an obituary on Mr. Saunders and mentioned Dominique's real name right in there. I feel sorry for both familes. It's such a traumatic thing. Here we can't get away from the news. All the local stations have it on 24/7. They're digging for stories and stuff on it all the time.
"The interesting thing is after you put my website address in there, I got emails from some of the video companies looking to higher the girls [Wolfe's dancers]. That wasn't the intention but the response was certainly surprising."
