AVN Award-winning performer Lezley Zen is leaving Porn Valley for Miami, where she will be signing a one-year contract with start-up PinkTV.com, which will prominently feature her in various interactive hardcore programming.
“I’m so excited,” the sizzling, hard-bodied brunette told AVN.com today. “I grew up on the East Coast. Charleston, South Carolina. And my goal was always to retire in South Beach (in Miami), so I’m one step closer.”
Zen, her longtime boyfriend, fellow performer Trevor Zen, and their two children are moving to Florida in two weeks for PinkTV’s scheduled July 1 launch.
Zen will host a game show on PinkTV called “Match That Snatch,” will be the lead for a BDSM soap opera entitled “Into the Mist” and will be featured on PinkTV Live, where, when she’s not fielding calls, she will be having hardcore sex with other performers.
“I know they’re looking to hire a lot of talent from here,” she said. “They’ll fly them down. They’ll put them up and they can work there for like a week and lie on the beach in their spare time.”
Zen said PinkTV will start out exclusively on the Internet, but is scheduled to expand to other mediums, including satellite in the winter of 2006.
Zen will leave California with a bang, hosting a party at Bask in Hollywood on Thursday, June 9, the night before Erotica L.A. kicks off, and she will also be signing at the PinkTV booth at the adult consumer oriented show. She’ll do the same at Internext in August in Hollywood, Fla. and at AEE in January in Las Vegas.
Surprisingly, Zen said she has no mixed feelings about leaving Porn Valley.
“None whatsoever,” she said.
“If you notice the XRCO Awards (scheduled to be handed out June 2), what I’m nominated for is Unsung Siren,” she explained. “And that says it all in a little package why I have no regret to leave L.A.”
Zen said she feels underappreciated to a degree.
“I feel like I’ve put out some really good product,” she said. “And my reviews are always amazing. I was nominated by AVN for Best New Starlet within six months of entering the business (in 2001). I’ve been nominated by AVN a number of other times, too. And in January, I won Best Supporting Actress (for Vivid’s Bare Stage).
“About a year and a half ago... I wanted a contract. And I felt I deserved one” with one of the big feature companies.
But a contract never materialized.
Still, never say never. Her contract with PinkTV is not exclusive, and Zen said she would still be available for other Adult work, possibly including shoots back here in Porn Valley.
