Lexington Steele Gets Own Show on Playboy TV

Fresh off his AVN Award for Male Performer of the Year, his record-setting third time to win said award, Lexington Steele is preparing for the debut of his new Playboy TV show Lex in the City. rnrn

"Lexington Steele is one of the most popular adult male performers in the adult industry and we're happy to have him aboard," Frank Marchaseni, director of publicity for Playboy Entertainment Group, told AVN. com. rnrn

"He's very well respected within the adult community and we feel that will be a strong asset in developing a show around him," he added. rnrn

Lex in the City will follow a talk-show format, with Steele interviewing both mainstream and adult personalities. Even with the talk format, adult performers will be invited to show off their assets, though Steele is quick to point out that's not the emphasis of the show.rnrn

"It's almost going to be like a Chris Rock-type show where we'll have a very good dialogue and discussion between a mainstream and an adult personality. We'll have the mainstream personality discuss aspects of their sexuality - do they watch porno, who are their favorite people, what do they like to do. Conversely when the adult star comes on we'll ask them questions about their life, or ask about music or have they seen the mainstream guest's latest movie," Lexington Steele said. rnrn

"What Playboy really wants to do is (insert itself) into the urban and ethnic market. There's an awesome responsibility that's been given over to me and that's spearheading that charge. There's a presence on the cable television market that Playboy has not sought and with this show, they're looking at grabbing that part of the market."rnrn

Steele intends on using his airtime to help promote other ethnic adult performers who aren't regular staples in the Playboy TV lineup.rnrn

"There are a number of ethnic stars in the business that have not had the opportunity to appear or be showcased on a platform of that level and this show will be that opportunity," he said. "Monique will be one of the first people I want to have on the show because her recognition is not as great as it should be." rnrn

"I'm going to hit the issues that other people may not want to touch. It will give light on a very broad platform for these issues to be addressed. I'll do it in a fun way, but I'm definitely going to touch on things that definitely would not be touched if not by me. If you hand a person a microphone you better be prepared for what that person has to say." rnrn

Lex in the City will debut on at February 12 at 12:30am, following the popular Nightcalls 411. After that new episodes of the show will air bi-weekly, though re-runs of each episode will be shown five times a week.
