Leigh Sues Hefner over Coffee-Table Book Pics

The question before a Los Angeles Superior Court judge is whether Hugh Hefner will be compelled to give a public deposition, in a suit by a former girl friend who's none too thrilled about photos published in a coffee-table book, Inside the Playboy Mansion.

Carrie Leigh is suing Hefner and Playboy Enterprises for breach of contract, charging they printed a photo of her without her permission. The 1999 lawsuit also names writer Gretchen Edgren, who composed the text for the 1998 book.

A spokesman for Leigh and her attorney, Gregory Smith, says she's now happily married and a mother, and has "turned down all offers for almost anything," according to APBNews.

Meanwhile, attorneys for Playboy want Judge Paul Boland to seal any statements Hefner might make. Playboy has otherwise not commented yet.
