Legendary Lars Finds His Position at Friend Finder

After the merger of online adult dating network Friend Finder and his cam operation, Streamray, Legendary Lars was officially named FriendFinder Inc.’s head of marketing Tuesday afternoon.

Lars will take over the affiliate and marketing teams for the company.

“I’m going to be taking over the affiliate team, the board presence and brand building —basically the same things I do for Streamray, which I will continue to do for Streamray as well. It’s kind of the merging of the two companies’ affiliate teams together,” Lars told AVNOnline.com.

Lars, who acquired a minority share of equity in Friend Finder parent Various Inc. via the merger, has had a largely undefined role since the March 23 transaction. He promptly kicked things off by giving away some cash – announcing a promotion to add 10 percent to the checks of AdultFriendFinder.com affiliates who send more joins in April than they did in March.

As head of marketing, Lars will pick up some of the responsibilities of former general manager Jack Mardack, who announced his departure from Friend Finder to start a consultancy, ProfitLAB, in conjunction with rival SexSearch.com.

“What I’m doing is on a bigger scale because I’m handling both Streamray and Friend Finder. [Jack] was more an affiliate manager. I’m going to be doing all the board relations and the public image,” Lars said.

As for the companies themselves, the merger isn’t likely to produce any manpower casualties, but rather a beefier Streamray.

“We’re going to keep it running the same way we are. We’re planning on adding staff to the Streamray division—more programmers, more customer support,” Lars said.
