KOHALA, HI—AVN has learned legendary adult actress Gloria Leonard passed away Monday evening of complications from the stroke she suffered sometime late Jan. 31 or in the early hours of Feb. 1. She reportedly remained in her home in a paralyzed state for nearly 24 hours before being rushed to the intensive care unit of North Hawaii Community Hospital, where the stroke was diagnosed and she was put on a ventilator.
Doctors told family members and friends that Leonard lost movement entirely on one side of her body, and had only a slight ability to move with the other half. Her condition while in the hospital continued to deteriorate, and in the late afternoon Hawaii time on Monday, Feb. 3, , doctors removed the tube which had been inserted to help her breathe, and though she was able to breathe on her own for a short time, her brain damage from the stroke was so extensive that she was unable to continue to do so, and died shortly after 5 p.m. Pacific time.
Leonard is survived by a daughter, Robin, and a granddaughter, Roxanne Nai'a Felig. It is also believed Leonard is survived by an older sister, but that is unconfirmed at press time.
