CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Lee Roy Myers is a man who likes to have many irons in the fire. Since parting ways with New Sensations Myers has been a flurry of activity announcing numerous new projects. Add the creation of Lee Roy Myers Presents, his new studio imprint, to the tally.
Myers told AVN that Lee Roy Myers Presents will be producing and releasing original features, parodies, romance movies, high-end gonzo and some new concepts to the marketplace with his new imprint that will be utilizing a few different distributors.
“We really have lots of exciting things coming up,” Myers said. “Because I’m not directing everything, I’m able to make sure the quality is up there on everything. I want to create movies that guys can watch with their significant other, laugh and jerk off.”
The first project to be released under the Lee Roy Myers Presents label will be The Big Lebowski: XXX Parody 2 - Logjammin’, a sequel to The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody Myers did for New Sensations. Following Lebowski 2 will be Pron, a parody of Tron. Preproduction has begun on both movies.
Following the those two projects will be parodies of Sailor Moon, Office Space, Caddyshack, Facts of Life, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and My Name is Earl.
“The way porn has taken a turn right now is that if you don’t own your product, you’re going to be in trouble down the line,” Myers said. “I’ve shot a lot of quality movies that I’m very proud of, but I’ve had to walk away from them after. I had a great studio behind them and they do a good job, but are they mine anymore? I would like some of my movies that can be mine for the rest of my life.”
Myers will continue to work with Tom Byron Pictures, the first project of which is the much-discussed The Human Sexipede that Myers is rushing to release by Sept. 30, the AVN Awards deadline.
“What would the awards be without three people surgically attached to each other genitals to genitals?” Myers asked. “I’m hoping to win Most Outrageous Sex Scene.”
Next up for Myers under the Tom Byron Pictures banner is Pornocchio, which tells the story of a man that sees himself as a piece of wood that wants to be a piece of meat.
“Another one of our goals is to bring back the fun parody porn title,” Myers said. “No more ‘Nots,’ ‘Ain’ts’ and others. It’s the smallest part of it, but an integral part of what porn parodies should be.”
Myers’ work with Nightingale, his all-girl studio in conjunction with Adult Source Media, moves forward as well. The studio’s second release, Sex, Thighs and Videotape directed by Paul Woodcrest, is releasing soon. A planned parody of the classic sexploitation film, Faster, Pussycat! Kill, Kill also is in the works.
The busy Myers also has begun to work with VCX with plans to remake Sex World, a futuristic thriller. The original title is based on West World starring Yul Brynner.
“Sex World is a great movie that needs to be remade,” Myers said. “It’s a little dated, but its such a fun movie; it’s so well made and so fantasy based. We’re going to futurize it a bit, but keep it pretty faithful to the original. One of the scenes will be a shot for shot remake of a scene in the original.”
