Lava Releasing today announced an immediate recall of nine recent titles from the Ghost Pro label: Swallow Sluts, Vols. 1-4 (all volumes), Asian Creampies, Vols. 1-3 (all volumes) and Creampie Cuties, Vols. 8 and 10.
According to Lava’s Bob East, Tony Porno, Ghost Pro owner and director, moved to Thailand in February after making a deal with a local replicator to handle all aspects of production for this successful line of DVD. Under the agreement all art was to be approved and all authored videos to have a check disk approved before replication.
This did not happen, East said. As a result faulty disks, with incorrect insert art were sent to Lava for distribution.
Lava is asking that all distributors return any unsold stock immediately. As soon as the newly replicated titles are available they will be replaced. All retailers should contact their local distributors for return. Call tags will be issued upon request of Lava. Any consumer having purchased a DVD should either contact their local retailer or may make arrangements through Lava for replacement.
“This is a nightmare,” Porno said in a statement. “ I am a very hands-on person and usually oversee all aspects of my product, so letting someone else handle these steps wasn’t easy for me.
“We have had an excellent reputation from our web sales, but recently have been criticized in the chat rooms for shoddy product. We have spoken with the replicator on several occasions and been assured this would be corrected. Instead, the problem has only gotten worse.”
Porno moved to Thailand to be better able to work with the best Asian talent available. “With so many other creampie titles out there we saw a need for some variety. What we are shooting here is great, but if it translates into the mess we have out there now, it doesn’t matter. We have always been a consumer friendly company so this is a PR disaster.”
“I was just in with the replicator and it’s all going to get done,” East assured AVN.com Monday afternoon.
