Larry Flynt report

The PRIVATE Eurobabes will be at Hustler Hollywood tomorrow night. On Thursday evening, April 8th, they're at Excitement Video in Tarzana. Monique Covet, PRIVATE's Girl of the Year, and Bettina, star of THE URANUS EXPERIMENT, which features the first orgasm shot in zero gravity, will be signing photos, greeting fans and pressing the flesh!

The issuance of the long-awaited Larry Flynt report, brought two old adversaries together on Cable NBC's Rivera Live last night - Hustler publisher Flynt and the Rev. Jerry Falwell, chancellor of Liberty University in Virginia. But, instead of a debate, the two men interacted more like old country squires who have long resolved their territorial differences.

Nevertheless, Flynt's magazine-style report, boasts the banner headline: "Larry Flynt Unmasks the Hypocrites" with photos of congressmen Bob Livingston, Henry Hyde and Bob Barr lined up like mug shots across the front cover. The cover also teases with "fresh dirt on" Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay, Mary Bono, Gov. Jeb Bush, Charles Canady and Tim Hutchinson among others.

"The mud-slinging that began with Ken Starr's probe of Bill Clinton's sex life has ended with another excavation of political dirt," Rivera intoned in making his introductions. "Larry Flynt has published, this, The Flynt Report which says it seeks to unmask the hypocrites in Congress - those that cast stones at the president while conveniently forgetting their own sexual sins. There's a hall of infamy section that has titles like Henry Hyde Home Wrecker in the House, and California congressman Ken Calvert - Touched By a Hooker. That's going to be a new CBS series. There's some solid documentation. There's also plenty of rumor and hearsay in here. But it sure has generated another firestorm of controversy."

Rivera: "In the magazine Larry refers to our friend Jerry as 'Reverend Liar.' Before I ask the Reverend how he feels about that, here is proof positive that Larry is in cohoots with President Clinton. [Rivera exhibits one of those infamously dummied Hustler photographs of Clinton with Flynt, James Carville, the Pope and Monica Lewinsky.] Larry, why did you do it?"

Flynt: "Geraldo, this is an historical document. No one has published anything like it...We wanted to give the Americans a cross-section of their legislators and say to them, 'Hey,.don't idolize these people or put them on a pedestal. They're human beings with the same weaknesses and frailties we all have. And I think the piece is very well documented. There are some rumors in the piece, but even the rumors have been in print."

Rivera: "Rev. Falwell, what's wrong with Larry Flynt doing what he's doing? He has a constitutional right to 'out' hypocrites or anyone else, doesn't he?"

Falwell: "He does. There's no question that he has a right to do what he's doing. The question is, is it right? I think it is not. I think that this is not only wrong and hurtful, but there are women and children involved and families involved. It's post-mortem. It is unneccessary and Larry should be ashamed of himself."

Flynt: "But what about a lot of things the Reverend does where people are involved who he hurts? The reason why we did the piece in The Flynt Report on Jerry is because in his newsletter which goes out to his flock, he says that my investigator, Dan Modell, was on the payroll of Williams & Connolly, President Clinton's law firm. Which was really a lie."

Falwell: "We have our opinion, and we say what we believe is true. And I know, Larry, it upsets you for me to say what is purely opinion. But it is my opinion that James Carville took those illegal FBI files and used them, through you, to bring down speaker Livingston and many others. Chuck Colson went to prison for violating one file. Over 1,000 FBI files were accessed by this president."

Flynt: "Jerry, the only connection I have to President Clinton is that I voted for him twice."

Falwell: "I think James Carville is a pretty good connection. He's a good buddy of yours. And I don't object to you having James for a buddy. But until I learn that James, in reality, has been teaching the bible to the First Family and is not doing all the things I've heard he's doing, I'm going to hold to my opinion that he has made those files public information.

Flynt made an aside to Falwell about the Reverend sticking to his diet.

Falwell: "You're wrong, Larry, and I still think that Carville and company have a lot to answer for. And, one of these days, after all the dust has settled and we're in, maybe, the next century looking back, this will be remembered as one of the darkest criminal days the White House has ever, ever...

Rivera: "Larry, some specific questions. There is the charge, and you mock it in the publication. The reverend restates it that you are just a pawn in the hands of the Clinton White House or someone as Machiavellian as James Carville, that you're nothing but a tool of Corporal Cueball Carville. How do you respond to that?"

Flynt: "The only thing I wanted to do was to provide a voice for the 70% of the people who did not feel that the president should be impeached. I felt with that ad in the Washington Post and letting people know that hypocrisy crosses party lines, that maybe I could send a message. I think we did that in a profound way. But I have no connection with the president whatsoever."

Falwell: "Larry, you could solve this whole thing by making one clear statement. And that would be this: That you, nor no one connected with you, or Hustler magazine has ever had any contact with James Carville in the creation of the articles defaming these Republican congressmen and senators."

Flynt: "I say that unequivocally, and I would put my hand on your good book."

Falwell: "When I'm in your office the next time, I'm going to pull it out of my pocket, lay it on the desk and let you do that."

Flynt: "Alright."

Rivera: "Reverend Falwell, let me talk a bit about the main point. I tend to agree about the timing. Maybe the timing's a day late and a dollar short. But still, look at the threesome that are on the main...here you have Livingston who's admitted to a life as a rogue, a Romeo. Here's a guy who's saying things about President Clinton. His own life, though, shows that Clinton is a choir boy compared to him. Henry Hyde did break up that marriage. It may have been long ago. It happened and it was egregious when it happened. Bob Barr did apparently hide behind a statute that invoked a certain privilege, and some suggest, even used it wrongly to avoid testifying perjuriously in a divorce action. Why not? Why not expose hypocrisy?"

Falwell: "First of all, I've said on this program and I've said other places that congressman Livingston made a terrible mistake allowing himself to be even a candidate for speaker knowing that he'd be blown out of the saddle and certainly he did the honorable thing - resigning the position and, I understand, will be, if he hasn't already, resigned in Congress. I agree with that. But when you look back 30 years with Henry Hyde, or look back five years, there has to be room for forgiveness and redemption, but they ought to behave themselves after they get there."
