BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.—Hustler founder and publisher Larry Flynt and Hustler magazine are offering up to one million dollars in cash "for information about Mitt Romney's unreleased tax returns and/or details of his offshore assets, bank accounts and business partnerships." The offer is being publicized in full-page ads that will appear in Sunday's Washington Post and Tuesday's USA Today.
The ad also asks, "What is he hiding?" and contains a phone number and email address where anyone who can provide "documented evidence of your claims" can contact Hustler, safe in the knowledge that the correspondence will be kept confidential.
That last promise of anonymity prompted Adweek to muse, "if you’re a former Bain exec with a bone to pick (or without a golden parachute), you might want to get a pen."
The Hollywood Reporter published a graphic of the ad yesterday.
