LGI Digital has spun off a companion label to Sex Z Pictures, launching Sex Z Gonzo last week with the initial volumes of two new series by Roy Karch.
All About Anal and Lingerie Sluts are the first two gonzo titles directed by Karch, a member of both the AVN Hall of Fame and the XRCO Hall of Fame who began directing adult in the late 70’s.
Sex Z Pictures’ Bo Kenney states that Karch adapted to the gonzo genre adeptly. “I think Roy Karch is a Renaissance man, he can do everything,” Kenney told AVN.com. “He was always constrained to creating cookie cutter work before, but we’ve turned him loose and the work is going to speak for itself. Roy has really stepped up.”
Besides being the debut titles of Sex Z Gonzo, All About Anal and Lingerie Sluts were also among the first titles released with a new foil box cover design that Kenney believes will help his product stand out on retail shelves – instead of silver foil, the box cover is coated with a colored foil.
“A lot of foil uses a template, and most of the time its silver, “ Kenney said. “We went to Box Cover, who we found in the AVN directory, and we said, ‘Use the foil however you think is best.’ They used most of the box, and the colors are looking so good I decided to have everything look like that.”

Teen Auditions
and Cum Eating Teens, two all-sex titles from LGI Digital, the parent company of Sex Z Pictures and Sex Z Gonzo, were also released last week with the new colored-foil design.
Both of LGI Digital’s all-sex titles contain brand new scenes directed by up and coming director digital dk.
Skye Blue also directs for Sex Z Gonzo and Sex Z Pictures.
LGI Digital will handle teen-orientated gonzo lines, with Sex Z Gonzo focusing on genre specifics such as anal, Asian, and other niches.
In the past LGI was known primarily for their European all-sex lines, but a weakening dollar and strong Euro make it more cost efficient to product new titles in the United States.
Sex Z Pictures released 24 titles in 2004, 20 of which were features. It will remain banner under which features will be released. “What we’re trying to show people with the features is that the sex is just as good but there’s a storyline,” Kenney said. “We have anal sex and threesomes in the features and really try to create something that will interest a wide range of consumers.”
With the addition of Sex Z Gonzo, Sex Z Pictures hopes to ramp up to one release a week for 2005.
