Korean Kids Said Peddling E-Porn

Kids will be kids, but the Seoul Metropolitan Police weren't laughing at the online antics of a 10-year-old who digitally grafted a famous actress's face onto a porn star's body and posted eight images of the meld on his own website.

β€œIt was because it lures a lot of people to my site,” the unnamed youth was quoted as saying in the South Korean press June 1.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police were also reported to have arrested another elementary school student, a 9-year-old in the fourth grade, and four middle school students, all of whom created their own community sites and posted porn images.

The criminal charges were dropped and the randy kids got off with a stern lecture, according to Korean news site Chosun.com, which said it logged onto a peer-to-peer network – believed the prime source of porn for Korean kids, because the sites don't require age verification –and got only three nonporn pictures out of 146 results for "elementary school student."

Some of the titles that turned up included "Japanese elementary school prostituting herself," "Elementary school boy and girl alone in a room," and "Elementary school student having oral sex," among others, Chosun reported, adding that one title involved a short video clip of two elementary students having sex.

A National Youth Commission study that examined 171 Korean elementary students last year determined that just over 14 percent had uploaded or downloaded porn, with 20 out of 51 who had visited porn sites saying they went to them over once a week. But the NYC said there is no legal way yet to stop children from joining P2P networks or chat rooms where the content and talk focuses on porn.
