Writer Rodger Jacobs relates an incident several weeks ago involving him and another website writer:
Jacobs: "I'm still writing an article about him, and I asked him a question relating to this article. He says, by the way, I really got a helluva breaking story. I asked him when's it going up. He says, right now, in 20 minutes. What is it I ask. He tells me the whole story. I got mad at him. It's about kiddie porn, and there's illustrations. It's about [screenwriter] Dan O'Bannon. There's hardcore pictures. He tells me he's putting the whole story up at the moment complete with pictures. I said, 'What are you saying? Pictures? You're putting them up??!! You're going to jail!!
"He said, 'Well, are you sure?' I said have you ever heard of the Child Pornography Protection Act? You put those pictures up, you're going to jail. I don't know if you're stupid, or if you're being setup. One of the two is happening. He argued with me. Like I needed to prove this to... I'm in a flurry to pull out my Jeffrey Douglas file and pull the direct quote on the law for him. He [the writer] started arguing with me. He just wanted to put up the non-sexual parts. I said, no, no! Absolutely no depictions! He tells me they're just drawings. I go,...., the word is NO, no depictions of children engaged in intercourse. Finally, he consented and did not put the pictures up.
"Not for his own protection, but for the industry in general, I said do me a favor. E-mail me the story before you post it. Just e-mail it to me and let me look at it. Being the egocentric he is, I basically rewrote the entire piece for him and sent it back. He did it shave it down a little bit. I was still shocked at the amount of pedophilic verbiage he still kept up in the piece. If it wasn't for the fluke phone call, he would have done this without anyone's advice and would have had kiddie porn up on his website.
"It's not looking good for him. Wednesday was real fucking close. I was in shock. I never gave him credit for being intelligent, but this really blew me out of the water."
