- A 15-year-old hospital patient took his rehabilitation into his own hands at C.S. Mott's Children's Hospital - he hired a hooker. And police aren't yet sure whether to charge the boy with solicitation or the woman with statutory rape, in a case which has hospital officials slightly bemused, to say the least.
The kid would never have been suspected, in fact, if a hospital worker hadn't called the police after hearing the boy and his escort negotiating the fee after she did whatever she did to help his recuperation, according to the Ann Arbor News.
"It's a bizarre tale," police captain Joe Piersante told the newspaper. "I've never heard anything exactly like this before." The boy is believed to have telephoned an escort service for the evening of March 30, then engaged consensual sex - despite the boy being short of the legal age. The News said authorities are trying to identify the woman, though they don't think she knew the boy was 15.
