Kick Ass Pictures XXX-spoof of Mary Carey's Campaign Due This Week

Run Mary Run, a behind-the-scenes spoof of Kick Ass Pictures contract performer Mary Carey’s historic run for governor in the California Recall Election, will be released in both VHS and DVD formats this week.

Mary Carey plays herself in the movie, offering viewers the “naked truth,” and other naked things, behind her campaign that became of a focal point of the media coverage on the recall election.

“The actual campaign was more fun than making the video, although I did get to have sex with Tanya James and she’s pretty hot,” Carey told AVN.com

Despite the odds, Carey earned over 10,000 votes, finishing in the top 10 out of a field of 135 candidates and became an internationally known persona for her part in the campaign. The movie combines actual newsreel footage from Carey’s campaign with recreations of XXX-rated, behind-the-scenes incidents.

Porn icon Ron Jeremy, currently a star of the WB network’s Surreal Life 2 plays Spooge Cruztamante, a spoof of Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, and Lee Stone plays “Ernie Gropeneger," a spoof of Arnold Schwarzenegger – the man who won the recall election. Gropeneger, of course, ends up groping one of his assistants – a spoof of a number of sexual harassment claims against Schwarzenegger during the closing days of the election.

The movie also includes Carey’s first-of-its-kind, uncensored TV commercial that ran on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

“I wanted to share all the titillating adventures that people didn’t hear about on the news,” Carey said. “I may not have won the election, but I definitely had more fun than any of the other candidates”

Run Mary Run is distributed by Kick Ass Pictures. The title will be released on January 28.
