LOS ANGELES - Adult production company K-Beech is sponsoring a night of boxing at the Playboy Mansion to be broadcast live on ESPN2 on Wednesday, June 25.
"I've been a huge boxing fan my entire life - some of my best friends are boxers and fighters - so when the opportunity came up to get involved, I jumped right in," said K-Beech CEO Kevin Beechum. "To have the first event I participate in held at the world-famous Playboy Mansion and broadcast on ESPN2 is incredible."
"Tribal Pride at the Playboy Mansion" will feature former lightweight world champ Julio "Kidd" Diaz (34-4, 25 KOs) in a 10-round headline bout with undefeated David "El Torrito" Torres (20-0, 13 KOs) .
On the undercard, middleweight Henry "Sugar Poo" Buchanan (16-1, 11 KOs) will step into the ring with Brian Norman (16-7, 4 KOs) in an 8-round fight."Fighting on national TV is a big step up for me," said Buchanan, the uncle of San Diego Chargers All-Pro linebacker Shawn Merriman. "There is more pressure to perform well when you're on ESPN. Fans at home can pick apart your game and give opinions. I want to be able to leave a good impression on the viewers and the fans in attendance."
Beechum has taken a special interest in another one of the fighters on the undercard: his lifelong friend Jason "JP" Peterson, a member of the Hell's Angels who recently turned pro boxer after five years as an amateur.
Beechum has been advising JP in preparation for his match with an unnamed opponent, and invited former UFC champ Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell (pictured) to help in JP's corner during his bout.
"When I asked Chuck for some help, he offered to come to the fight and work his corner," said Beechum. "I was floored, to be honest with you."
Limited seats are available. Contact Kevin Beechum at (818) 772-4201 ext. 102 or email [email protected] for more information.
