Julian Signed to Platinum X and Red Light; Starts New Series

A seven-year veteran performer best known for his feature work has signed a contract to that calls for him to work with two decidedly gonzo companies.

Julian has been signed to direct a new series for Platinum X and signed a joint-performance contract with Platinum X. and Red Light. He anticipates performing in approximately 15-20 scenes a month, including six for his own series, tentatively titled POV Pinups.

“Jewel De’ Nyle is a big fan of Julian’s and knows that I’m a big fan of having male talent under contract,” Dion Giarrusso, owner of Red Light District and sales consultant for Platinum X told AVN.com  “I’m looking for great things from him and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Platinum X and Red Light are separate companies though they share both the services of Giarrusso and Julian.

“They are non-competing companies as far as I’m concerned, Platinum’s style is more Evil Angel and Red Light is more of an Anabolic in the type of gonzo we make,” Giarrusso said.

POV Pinups will be shot with two cameras – one held by Julian for the POV shots. “It’s going to be really raw, very gonzo, no music. You’ll hear the girls making noises, talking to the camera – it’s supposed to be very real,” Julian said. “When the girls are looking at the camera the POV will give the illusion that they are looking at you. They aren’t going to mention my name or anything during the scene, so people at home can pretend that it’s them.”

As a former contract-performer for Vivid, VCA, JKP, and a pre-makeover New Sensations, Julian admits that he isn’t known for being a hardcore gonzo type of performer. “For the longest time I wasn’t. I was mainly used for features everywhere I was. I’m going on seven years in the industry and I make as much money for less work now that I’m doing gonzo” Julian said.

Julian, now 33, has directed a few features and vignettes in the past, but most recently turned to gonzo POV porn with a one-off for Mayhem. In fact, Julian was close to taking the series to Mayhem, but chose Platinum X they wouldn’t make him do softcore shots.

“It takes away from the intensity of the scene. Say you have a scene and you are doing four positions. A lot of people will shoot five minutes hard, five minutes soft. It can be really long and drawn out and the scene isn’t going to turn out as well because you’ve lost your momentum and you’re tired,” Julian said.

The first of POV Pinups will be released in November.
