VAN NUYS, Calif. - Jules Jordan Video (JJV) has closed a deal to handle all domestic and international sales for Darkside Entertainment, effective immediately.
"Darkside has been a major, major force in the black and interracial markets for a very long time," JJV owner, Jules Jordan, told AVN. "They have a small staff, so we're hoping that with this agreement they'll be able to completely focus on what they do best, which is shoot some of the best black and interracial titles in this industry. We hope they'll be able to put out more product, as well as increase the quality of that product as we join forces with them."
Darkside Entertainment is known for top-notch ethnic hardcore series such as Freaks of the Industry and In The Thick. The company was founded in 1997 and has been credited with originating hip-hop porn. The studio captured AVN's Best Ethnic Release-Black award in 2007 for Tailz From The Darkside, directed by performer Devlin Weed.
"A couple people had approached us with offers. Jules' and our offices are right beside each other, and one day we just started talking about a possible deal...and it all just happened from there," explained Darkside Entertainment's Craig Daze. "Jules basically has the distribution side of the business locked down, and he puts out top notch product, so there wasn't anybody better to hook up with than him. We're looking forward to getting back to just making great movies."
The first Darkside title to be released through JJV will be In The Thick 23 on Dec. 17 followed by The Best of In the Thick, Head Clinic, Ms. Good Pussy and Phat Actress.
