Judge to Microsoft: Serve Fresh Java in Four Months

Software giant Microsoft has been spanked with a federal order to carry Sun Microsystems' Java programming language within 120 days.rnrn

The ruling, which Microsoft will appeal, requires the Redmond, WA-based company to begin installing Java into every MS operating system. US District Judge J. Frederick Motz has agreed to stay the commencement of the 120 days pending the appeal.rnrn

Java can run on a number of operating systems and platforms, but its antitrust suit accused Microsoft of trying to sabotage the software by refusing to make room for it in the Windows OS.rnrn
