Joone Honored by Australia's Adult Industry for Pirates

Digital Playground's Joone was honored with an inaugural "International Hall of Fame" award at Australia's 2006 Adult Industry Award show last week for his work on the AVN award-winning blockbuster, Pirates. This marks the 40th award for Pirates, which was a co-production with Adam & Eve Pictures. Joone directed the feature, which won 11 AVN Awards in January.

The Australian Adult Industry Awards commenced in 2001 and is designed to showcase the growing Australian adult industry. It includes brothels, escort agencies, strippers, adult retail shops, film and video production, men's bars and everything associated with the adult industry in the country. The aim of the Australian Adult Industry Awards is to establish legitimacy for the industry and its participants.

Maxine Fensom, founder of the Australian Adult Industry Awards, remarked, "We were delighted to honor such an important player in the industry as Joone down under. His contribution of Pirates to the Australian market confirms that our adult industry is growing and become more important every day."

Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane, one of the stars of Pirates, said, "It was an incredible feeling to present Joone with this 40th award. Pirates has been a milestone to the adult video industry worldwide. As this movie has become more popular and visible internationally, our industry has gained acceptance and as a result, it is more accepted as a legitimate source of entertainment. Speaking for Joone and the entire cast and crew, being a part of this production continues to be a source of pride. I'd like to thank everyone for their support."
