John Wayne Bobbitt Fight Postponed For Health Reasons

BROOMALL, Pa. - John Wayne Bobbitt, the man who became famous after his wife cut off his penis as he slept, was declared unable to participate in a scheduled boxing match on Saturday, Nov. 15, because of high blood pressure.

The fight promoter told reporters Bobbitt began having his blood pressure taken at 2 p.m. but medical personnel were unable to bring it down. Bobbitt was scheduled to fight comedian Rev. Bob Levy, a staple of the Howard Stern Show.

Paradise Visuals co-owner Jason Green promoted the Bobbitt bout to tie in with the company's DVD release of John Wayne Bobbitt: Uncut and Frankenpenis. Bobbitt appeared on the Stern show Nov. 13 to talk up the boxing match and the reissue of his porn movies.

"I spoke to John tonight," Green told reporters. "He was very disappointed. He traveled all the way from Las Vegas to Pennsylvania and had to take off three days from work to do pre-fight promotion."

Green said he and Bobbitt did not believe the claims of the promoter, and noted Bobbit went to a local pharmacy after the fight was postponed and filmed him taking his blood pressure; the results were normal.

Green said he is trying to arrange it so Bobbitt can call into the Howard Stern Show to tell his side of the story.

Even though the fight did not take place as scheduled, Bobbitt will appear in the Paradise Visuals booth at the 2009 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, Jan. 8-11 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. Bobbitt will appear with Uncut director Ron Jeremy.

The John Wayne Bobbitt: Uncut Special Edition DVD is now available everywhere from Paradise Visuals and is distributed by Anabolic. It can also be viewed exclusively at HotMovies.com.
