LOS ANGELES—Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis, along with girlfriend Abbey Wilson, are the subjects of sex tape that Francis said was stolen from her bag at LAX.
News of the tape's existence, which according to TMZ.com contains hardcore footage that was obtained off Wilson's iPad after it was recently stolen at the airport. Francis has enlisted attorney David Houston to threaten legal action against the would-be distributors to ensure that the tape doesn't get released.
"It is not only unfortunate, but it is a crime," Houston, who has contacted the authorities, told TMZ about the theft of the tape. "As such, this office will take all necessary steps to determine who in fact has done this and who is attempting to distribute the video."
TMZ.com reports that the footage contains several sexual liaisons between the embattled Francis and longtime beau Wilson—who won the GGW Search for the Hottest Girl in America in 2012.
Celebrity sex tape broker, marketer and internet radio show host Kevin Blatt told AVN that he first discussed the tape two days ago with The Dirty's Nik Ritchie. He backs up Francis's assertion that the tape was obtained illegally and that Francis is going to aggressively pursue whoever is threatening to distribute it. Blatt will be talking about the tape on his radio show My Big Mouth, streaming live at 3 p.m. PDT on TheJointStudios.com.
The couple is set to appear on the upcoming season of VH1's Couples Therapy.
