Joanna Angel Lands Cameo in Indie Exploitation Pic

LOS ANGELES—The makes of '80s grindhouse-style vigilante picture Streets of Vengeance recruited newly inducted AVN Hall of Famer Joanna Angel over the weekend to shoot a nude fight scene for the movie, which is due out later this year in a variety of formats ... including VHS.

Directed by Paul Ragsdale for A & P Productions, Streets of Vengeance concerns an ex-adult star who, after being attacked by a group of misogynistic men, puts together a gang of women to exact brutal revenge. Angel's character, who appears in a flashback, is a survivor of the principal antagonist's who originally set him on his woman-hating path.

"She plays the role of a girl that the main villain was obsessed with in the past," Ragsdale told HorrorSociety.com. "He disapproved of her lifestyle as a stripper and he tried to kill her out of jealousy and control. She fought back and kicked his ass and it caused him to take out his pain on other women and stir up his misogynistic and murderous feelings."

Angel explained to AVN that Ragsdale contacted her about the part via Twitter after learning that she was close by for a feature dance appearance in Rancho Cordova. "I looked at the trailer he had made and I liked it, so I said yes," Angel said. "I like that it looked really '80s, like an old episode of 21 Jump Street but with chicks. And I was really impressed that they're releasing it on VHS."
