Jettis Clients No Longer Processing Visa EU Transactions

Payment processor Jettis announced last week that as of Nov. 28, 2003, they are no longer process Visa EU transactions.

“We have witnessed significant changes in the High Risk processing Industry over the past year, but none quite as dramatic as the past six months,” read the statement. “Due to the increased scrutiny of this industry by the credit card associations, our EU bank just notified us that it has decided to close this portion of their portfolio as of Friday. As a result, we will no longer be able to process your Visa EU transactions after that date.”

Jettis claims it’s accounts are in good standing and that the bank’s decision to no longer support the processing activities of adult IPSPs was widespread and not aimed solely at Jettis. Jettis claims this notice has no effect whatsoever on their U.S.-based clients.

“Obviously, this short notice has not left much time to make preparations for Visa processing for our EU clients,” continued the statement. “We will still continue to process your MasterCard, Discover and ACH transactions without any interruption. We sincerely regret that we were unable to give you greater notice and we realize that this short notice can create a hardship. While we are searching for alternative EU solutions for our clients, we are unable to ensure that we will have them in place by the [aforementioned] date.”

Jettis representatives could not be reached for comment.
