Jet Set and Naked Sword to Produce Online XXX Soap

Get ready for Melrose Place—the triple-X gay version. Gay adult production company Jet Set Productions and popular gay adult website NakedSword.com have announced a collaboration to produce 12 half-hour episodes of a hardcore gay soap opera. Titled Wet Palms, it will be set at a fictional West Hollywood residential complex.

Wet Palms is scheduled to premiere on NakedSword.com in June and will be released on DVD by Jet Set later in the year.

Open auditions will be held April 20 and 21 at the San Vicente Inn in West Hollywood, where the sudser will be filmed. Producers Tim Valenti (president of NakedSword.com) and Brett Drysdale (president of Jet Set) say they are looking to cast actors and adult models in several sexual and non-sexual roles.

"This is a new type of production," Drysdale stated. "We want a new type of performer—one whose versatility isn't limited to sexual positions. There are a lot of good actors in the adult film business whose talent hasn't been fully realized."

Reached by phone on Wednesday, Valenti said that the show was conceived with NakedSword.com members in mind. "We've got the kind of audience that will tune into this," he told AVN.com. "We want to be able to give them fresh, interesting content on an ongoing basis. It's like special programming. This is something new, something that's on the outside of it all."

Valenti promises that the show will be "very tongue-in-cheek and sexy," and will entertain porn lovers of all kinds. "Some people say there's no need for plot, but others love movies like The Hole, which is all about plot. We're combining them. The void it fills is that you're going to have the opportunity to get to know the character and their sex lives on an ongoing basis instead of in just one movie. I don't think there's anything else like that." Valenti added that the tone of the show will be "very voyeuristic."

GAYVN-nominated director Thor Stephans (Sex Psycho) has been tapped to direct the first three episodes.

"What I'm hoping is that we could do the same thing with a whole other set of characters and another world and do it again," Valenti went on to say, adding that he already has two other scenarios in mind. "I think the time is right for this sort of project."
