NEW YORK—Retired porn queen Jenna Jameson is in talks to star in the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages, according to reports.
Jameson would play the role of Venus strip club owner Justice whose big musical number is Journey’s “Any Way You Want It.”
"I am in talks with the Rock of Ages producers, and I'm praying I get the role,” Jameson told the New York Post. “Broadway has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl. I am really excited.
"I'm meeting with the producers and I just hope I have enough talent to carry the role. We are talking about a run that would be anything from a month to three months, and it could start very soon."
The Tony-nominated musical is built around classic rock hits from the 1980s and features music from Journey, Whitesnake, Styx, Pat Benatar and Bon Jovi.
While Jameson has appeared in mainstream media before, most notably in Howard Stern’s Private Parts, this role on Broadway would be her meatiest yet. But is Jameson’s voice good enough to carry the role?
"The producers were surprised, but Jenna has a good voice,” a show source told the Post. “And while she's famous for her X-rated movies, she can act. This may be a shock to traditional Broadway fans, but the show is always trying to push the boundaries."
Rock of Ages rep Patrick Confrey confirmed to the New York daily that producers were in talks with Jameson.
