Jenna Jameson Takes on Hosting Duties For 21st Annual AVN Awards

Jenna Jameson will share hosting duties for the 21st annual AVN Awards Show at the Venetian in Las Vegas in January with a top-tier comedic talent whose name has yet to be announced.

This will be Jameson’s third tour of duty as a co-host, a role that many consider one of the hardest jobs in the adult industry.

“I guess you could say that I'm a bit crazy, god knows after all of the fur comments about me at the last AVN's, I should know better,” Jameson admitted. “All kidding aside though, the awards show is such a big part of what makes this industry what it is - a family.”

Besides her past hosting gigs, Jameson has spent plenty of time on the stage of AVN Awards of the past – she’s presented awards and of course, won a number of them as well.  Yet with all of her time on stage, she’s never given herself an AVN Award. Not that hosting and accepting awards at the same show didn’t cause her any problems.

“I do remember my first year hosting in 96, I kept having to run from backstage out to the podium to accept my awards,” Jameson said. “By the end of the night, I thought I was going to pass out from all of the cardio I was doing.”

Jameson promises to be more of a “Chris Rock at the Video Music Awards” type of host than a “Billy Crystal at the Oscars” type of host. “He [Chris Rock] lets everything out that he thinks, without worrying about the consequences... that's a good thing, I think,” Jameson said.

Her co-host for this year has yet to be named.

Nearly 100 AVN awards are bestowed each year in categories that recognize the full spectrum of adult production from Most Outrageous Sex Scene to Best Overall Marketing Campaign – Single Title or Series.

The 21st annual AVN Awards show will be held Jan. 10, 2004 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
