VAN NUYS, Calif. — Director Jay Sin has officially had his name added to the ranks of Evil Angel's formidable distribution roster, forging an exclusive alliance that takes effect Apr. 25 with the release of his Gape Lovers 2.
"I've wanted [this] since I was probably 17 or 18 years old, watching Rocco movies," Sin told AVN. "It's a dream come true."
Sin spent several years shooting in Russia for Sineplex, which he part owned, and where he developed lines like Pushers and Winkers. "I started my career watching Nacho, Franco Roccaforte, Toni Ribas, Chris Streams, those guys shoot," he said, "and then I took over the camera and developed my skills."
Not that he was inexperienced behind the lens. "Before I started doing porn, I was filming extreme sports," he noted. "So I had a background [on] camera before I started doing porn. I've always been a cameraman, since I was like 15 years old. And a pervert, so it made sense."
Evil Angel owner John Stagliano eventually took notice of Sin's work, and began releasing some of it under the Buttman Magazine Choice label. The titles Milk Nymphos, Gape Lovers and Anal Acrobats all were issued as such, and a fourth, Milk Nymphos 2, streets today. Upon Gape Lovers 2 arriving Apr. 25, all four previous Jay Sin titles will be re-issued with the full-on Evil Angel banner.
Asked to describe his aesthetic, Sin said, "I like to have the fantasy, with some costumes and sets; I like the gonzo feel, but I like to have a somewhat surreal environment, where it's kind of like a photograph, but yet it's gonzo style. And I always, always make sure it's going to be nasty, good lighting and great angles, so you can see the nasty stuff in detail."
And as one might expect, "Everything is anal," he emphasized. "If it's not anal, I'm lost. I don't know what to do anymore."
Following the release of Gape Lovers 2 — which stars Aurora Snow, Claire Dames, Britney Stevens, Taryn Thomas, Harmony Rose, Jenny Hendrix and Bobbi Starr — the new partnership calls for Sin to produce one title per month.
For his follow-up project ... well, let Mr. Sin tell it: "I'm casting for a new series I want to do with really long toys, like 12 to 14 inch toys, being shoved all the way in a girl's ass, completely. I have like four girls for that already. It'll be pretty wild, I guarantee that. I have to fly halfway around the world to get one chick, but it'll be worth it, trust me."
Expressing pure elation about this new step in his career, Sin said, "I just want to thank John Stagliano and the whole Evil Angel company for supporting me. I owe everything to them, especially to John. He's a great person and a living legend."
