Japanese Gangster Busted For Pirate Porn Transmissions

A Japanese mobster believed to be using Taiwan as his base has been charged with transmitting porn around Asia by smuggling pirated porn DVDs from Japan to Taiwan and beaming them off the Jwave satellite channel.

Shuichi Mogi of the yakuza group Yamaguchi-Gumi, who runs two Taiwanese companies, Yixinhui and Oriental Digital, ran his pirate porncasts through those companies to clients in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Guam, and several southeast Asian countries, according to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Police raided Mogi's two companies October 19, arresting Mogi and his Taiwanese second in command, Huang Wei-chin; and confiscated what published reports said was a large volume of porn DVDs, satellite antennae, receivers, account books, and Web site materials.

Another Taiwanese partner, known only as Yen, and other suspected accomplices in the pirate porncasts, are believed still at large.

Apparently, Yamaguchi-Gumi has been airing the pirate porncasts for a long enough time, with reports from southeast Asia suggestions clients spent in the thousands for equipment like antennae, receivers, and cables, to access the 24/7 porncasts, plus extra decoding card fees and very expensive monthly payments. The porncasts were beamed by uplinks to the PalanaC2 channel in Indonesia and an unidentified Filipino channel, police told reporters.
