Japan Nabs 13 for Internet Porn

Japan made its first ever arrests for violation of Internet porn laws, hauling in 13 people who were allegedly part of an Internet pornography ring.\n Of the 15, five were arrested for selling computer servers with software containing copies of pornographic images. The rest were charged with displaying those images on the Internet and charging customers to see them.\n One of the five computer server sellers allegedly sold 20 computers with the software. At the time of the arrests, the eight operators of porn sites were believed to have made $71,400 (10 million yen) as a result of their enterprise.\n Ironically, Japan is open to porn in other forms and has a thriving porn industry. Pornographic comics and magazines are readily available at Japanese convenience stores.
