Janine Gets 6-Month Prison Sentence for Tax Evasion

EUGENE, Ore. - AVN Hall of Fame actress Janine Lindemulder, alias Janine M. James, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court to six months in federal prison for tax evasion.

Janine, 40, pleaded guilty in August to the tax charges, admitting that she spent money on a house, two vehicles, furniture, and a piano while owing the government a reported $200,000 in federal income taxes.

According to prosecutors, the former Penthouse model and Vivid contract girl spent more than $750,000 between 2000 and 2006, deliberately ignoring an IRS debt that stretched back to 1996.

Janine was ordered to report to prison on March 10. Following her sentence, Janine will serve one year of "supervised release" in which she must live in a "residential community corrections center" for up to six months. In addition, she must pay all of her back taxes, estimated at approximately $294,000.

One of the most popular performers of the 1990s, Janine made her adult film debut in Andrew Blake's Hidden Obsessions. She went on to sign with Vivid and became a huge draw on the feature dance circuit, teaming with XXX star Julia Ann to form the duo Blondage.

Janine famously posed for the cover of Blink-182's album "Enema of the State" and appeared in the Howard Stern movie Private Parts. Her recent adult film credits include Paul Thomas' Emperor and Janine's Been Black Maled.

It is rumored that a desperate Janine shot the most shocking scenes of her porn career following her arrest on the tax charges. Vivid Entertainment execs denied knowledge of the alleged scenes when the rumors first surfaced this summer, but other sources say the footage exists and is guaranteed to freak out Janine's fans.
