Hello and Bonjour from the 1999 WebExpo in Montreal, Canada. The folks here at AVN Online arrived just in time to attend the first industry party of the convention, and what a timely event it was. Jonathan Lieberman, the head honcho over at JMR Creations (the folks who bring you Naughty Links) hosted his Star Wars themed party from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Wyndam Hotel. Party goers were especially surprised and amused to see Liam Neeson wielding his light saber.
Just kidding (surprise, surprise). He called and said he couldn't attend. But the party did garner quite a few adult Internet industry convention attendees. They were easy to recognize as the bartenders and waiters were decked out in storm trooper and Wookie-wear. One bartender wore what I mistakenly took for a complete wannabe Star Wars costume, but was turned out to be a true to the movie Imperial Guard from Return of the Jedi.
Guests drank from souvenir plastic Star Wars cups as televisions in the room ran... what else... but Star Wars (the Special Edition with souped-up special effects) on their TV screens. Jedi expert Jim said that in fact it was the special edition Star Wars. Party background music consisted of a Star Wars soundtrack a la martini lounge style. A very interesting combination.
Party attendees stayed beyond the 8:30 p.m. time limit and Lieberman said that he and his cronies planned to see the midnight showing of The Phantom Menace.

Guests dressed up for this shin-dig held at the chic 737 club located a billion floors above the rest of Montreal in the Place Ville-Marie skyscraper. A stunning 360-degree view of Montreal's night lights could be seen from this skyscraper. Along with pretty views and pretty guests, partiers were treated to a free buffet, free alcohol and free entertainment.
The party was spread across three different floors -- the restaurant, club and lounge. A lingerie fashion show entertained guests while it ran simultaneously on two floors (same show-same music). While it took a while for the ladies to actually show up, one pretty one finally strutted her stuff on-stage amid impatient shouts of "Bring em on.".
The models were tight, toned and beautiful as they graced the catwalk in lingerie ranging from silk to latex. The first model came out in a PJ's that Hugh Hefner would probably consider buying for himself, but after that, the outfits got skimpier and the fabric lacier. One model received particularly high accolades for her sans bra outfit.
It was a party to remember, garnering quite a few Montreal locals curious about getting into the adult Net pot of god. We loved the food, but the AVN Online down and dirty scoop uncovered was that a few partiers thought the food at the buffet table was too rich.
Hope we don't get sued for publishing this slander.
OK....until the next party....this is Sharon Reed reporting from Montreal. "OVER"
