JENNA JAMESON, SUSAN SARANDON ADD STAR POWER TO FREE SPEECH COALITION'S BIG NIGHT

The Free Speech Coalition will be holding its annual Night of the Stars fest at the Universal City Sheraton, Saturday, July 24. The event promises high voltage presence from honorary co-chairs Susan Sarandon, California Assembly Member Paul Koretz, and Senator John Vasconcellos. Kat Sunlove, Executive Director of the Free Speech Coalition, said that although the Coalition is well aware of current events concerning freedom of expression, the event is not going to be overtly political. "The evening is just to honor the folks who really put their money where their mouth is when it comes to free speech," Sunlove said.

Honorees at this year's gala include adult superstar Jenna Jameson, who will receive the organizations Positive Image Award and rapper Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew, who will the distinction of Celebrity Freedom Fighter. Other award recipients include Christy Canyon, Jesse Adams, and director Carter Stevens who will all receive Lifetime Achievement recognitions for their work. The gay side of adult will also be recognized when actor Chip Daniels and director Chi Chi LaRue accept their Lifetime Achievement nods.

Other industry figures who will be in the spotlight are Wicked Pictures owner Steve Orenstein, who'll pick up the Joel Warner "Good Guy" Award, and Gary Kremen whose battles to keep and maintain the web domain sex.com have earned him the Hal Freeman "Freedom Isn't Free" Award.

Mistress of Ceremonies Juli Ashton will be accompanied by Master of Ceremonies Seymore Butts to hand out the awards. The evening begins at 6 PM with cocktails and a VIP reception before the show kicks off at 7 PM and then guests can dance the night away starting at 10 PM.

Once the evening is over, Sunlove said that the coalition will dive right into promoting its voter registration drive in conjunction with A.C.E. (The Association of Club Executives) and Joan Irvine of A.S.A.C.P. (Adult Sites Against Child Pornography).
