JAIL FOR SEATTLE TOWER STRIPPER

The transvestite who stunned rush hour traffic last month by climbing an electrical tower and dancing topless will be playing bars - ten days behind them, that is.

Ara Tripp climbed the tower Sept. 8 during morning rush as a protest against discrimination against women and laws allowing men to go topless but not women.

Tripp, 38, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal trespass at a hearing in Seattle Municipal Court. She will also serve 100 hours of community service.

When she reached the tower top, she took her blouse off and began dancing, taking periodic swigs from a bottle of vodka and then spitting it and setting it aflame. The stunt jammed traffic on a bridge over nearby Interstate 5 and the Lake Washington Ship Canal for the hour she was on the tower.
